TRACK & FIELD

Due to limited places currently available, there is a waiting list for young athletes to join our track and field training. However, if you'd like to find out more about joining the Club, please don't hesitate to contact us. Please email dissathleticsclub@gmail.com to find out more.

Who can join?
Track & Field training is open to anyone aged nine and over, regardless of ability. Please be aware that any children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or Guardian during training sessions.

What disciplines are on offer?
There is a wide variety of disciplines to try. Track events include sprints over 60m, 80m, 100m, 200m, 300m and 400m, as well as longer runs over 600m, 800m, 1500m, 5,000m and 10,000m. There is also coaching available in relay and hurdle events. If Field events are more to your taste, we offer shot putt, discus, hammer and javelin throwing, as well as the long jump, triple jump and high jump.

Athletes have the chance to compete on behalf of the Club between April and September, and we encourage all members to have go although this is not compulsory. We currently compete regularly in the Eastern Young Athletes League and Open meetings throughout the season.

Where does training take place?
Track & Field training takes place at Diss Sports Ground every Tuesday and Thursday, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
