Marathons and a Half!
Lance and Dean completed the Zig Zag full marathon on Sunday. Running through the beautiful Suffolk countryside on a very hot day both finished in amazing times. For Lance this was his second marathon in two weeks, having just completed the London marathon!
Axl ran the half marathon supporting his other half on her first ever half! Great stuff!

A Beautiful Bank Holiday Monday Run!
The weather was perfect for a 10km in Croxton. A lovely run on country roads through beautiful countryside was enjoyed by three of our Road Runners. It was a really well organised run with some of the friendliest Marshalls we have ever come across! Thanks so much to them for their motivation and to all the other volunteers who made it such an enjoyable morning. Well done all!

A Lovely Bank Holiday Sunday Run!
Sunday saw our Road Runners participating in The Heritage Coast 10k and Half Marathon and the Euston Estate Marathon.
Ben ran the Heritage 10K and Hannah ran the Half. The course started and finished in Thorpeness and was mainly off road with some sandy trails, great workout for the calves!
Colin ran the Euston Estate Marathon which took in the beautiful historic parkland of the estate.
All our athletes did amazingly well with Ben coming first in his age group and Hannah coming second! Well done to all you, fantastic running!

It's the Big One!
Representing Diss AC at London was Lance Escobar who secured his place through the Club Ballot. It was a hot day for the runners but the support across London was amazing.
It was the first time Lance has run the London Marathon and he completed it in the incredible time of 03:17:19! He was also lucky enough to be part of a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of finishers in a marathon! Well done Lance you really are a superstar!! We are all very proud of you!
Another Marathon Weekend for Diss AC
The weekend of 13th April saw 4 Road Runners pound the streets and trails at the Boston Marathon in Lincolnshire and at the Norfolk Marathon and Half Marathon in Cromer. Poles apart in terrain, the Boston Marathon was a flat course and Cromer was very hilly! However, all involved enjoyed their runs and support from organisers, the public and fellow athletes.
Sarah Hanlon represented us at Boston and finished in an amazing time of 03:28:02 finishing 3rd in her age group!
Colin Edmonson completed the Norfolk Marathon in a great time of 03:56:13!
Rhiannon Johnson and Sarah Watts ran the Norfolk Half Marathon in 01:56:06 and 03:26:17 respectively.

A marathon Weekend for the Road Runners!
A fantastic weekend of running for our Road Runners this weekend with Axl, Dean, Phil and Darren running marathons and Kim running a half marathon. Beautiful weather made it a great weekend albeit slightly warm for the longer distances! A special mention to Darren who was running his first ever marathon! A great weekend of events for Diss Road Runners!
Lance Escobar and Edward Nottingham took 3rd place at the Lingwood Duathlon Relay.
Janice Nottingham won her 60m race at the Norfolk County Championships to become the Indoor 60m County champion in her age group!
Colin Edmondson completed the Wymondham 20 mile race!

Cross Country Season comes to an end!
The last 2 races of the Suffolk Winter League were run back to back over the weekends of the 9th and 16th of February.
Once again there was a great turn out from Diss and everyone ran exceptionally well!
After all 6 races, Diss have had their best season ever coming in 12th overall, a massive achievement for our little club! Well done to everyone that has taken part during the season, we are immensely proud of you all!

Suffolk Winter League Cross Country Round 4 (19.01.2025)
Sunday saw nine of our determined Road Runners take on the journey across Suffolk to Haverhill to compete in the next round of the XC League. The promise of an undulating course with one of the best water features in the league enticed our runners to leave the comfort of their cosy, warm beds and head off to Horseheath Racecourse. The course did not disappoint!! Great fun was had by all and as always the team did us proud!

Runners-next-the-Sea 5 mile Beach Run (12.01.25)
Heading further afield on Sunday, Darren and Charlie took on a challenging 5 mile beach run on Holkham Beach. Another beautiful setting on a gorgeous day for a run on a partially 'frozen' beach. Both recommend this one!

Suffolk Winter League Cross Country Round 3 (12.01.25)
On a beautiful cold, crisp, sunny winter morning a group of 13 Road Runners braved the icy conditions to represent the club at the latest XC event at Haughley Park.
Although the mud was missing this time there were plenty of hills, obstacles, and icy sections to keep everyone entertained! A big thank you must go out to all the marshalls and volunteers who stood out in the freezing temperatures and cheered and clapped every runner along the way. You are all superstars!

EAMA 10k 17.11.24
A massive well done to Road Runner Peter Clarke for an outstanding run at the EAMA 10k held in Wymondham on Sunday. Peter completed the race in a time of 00:40:06 and came first in his age category. Fantastic running Peter!
Road Runners Out and About 10.11.24
A group of Road Runners headed to Great Yarmouth on Saturday to tackle the hardest parkrun in the country. Reports from everyone confirm that it is indeed the hardest one they had tackled! All enjoyed it though with many saying they will return!
Not content with putting her legs through it on Saturday our Kim decided to test them out once again at the Henham 10k coming home in a great time of 53:28:6. Also joining Kim was Colin who completed the run in a time of 46:18:8! Well done both, fantastic running!
Chase The Train!
Whilst some Road Runners were running around a castle in Framlingham, Kim was chasing a train in Aylsham!
Kim managed to catch the train in a great time of 1:19:34!

Cross Country Season has arrived!!
Diss Ac travelled to Framlingham for Round 1 of the Suffolk Winter League XC on 3.11.24.
There was a great turnout from the Road Runners and it was so lovely to see some of our Diss AC Juniors dipping their toes in the water.
The weather was kind and mud wasn't as plentiful as usual but as always great fun was had by all and there were some impressive performances!! Well done all!

Diss does Amsterdam!18-21st October 2024
An amazing weekend was had by all the Road Runners in Amsterdam at the weekend. Starting with the Amsterdamse Bos parkrun on the Saturday, completing the Amsterdam Marathon/Half Marathon on Sunday and finishing with a few celebratory drinks and food on the Sunday evening!
A special mention must go to Lyndsey who has just returned to running after breaking her foot! Coming along to support her team- mates she got swept up by the atmosphere and decided to pick up her bib and run anyway on no training! Not only did she complete it she finished in a fantastic time! Well done Lyndsey!

Harling 10k 01.09.2024
A fantastic turn out from the Road Runners on a very warm day at arguably one of the clubs favourite races of the year.
A great atmosphere with wonderful support along the way ensured everyone had a fantastic run! Great Yarmouth Half Marathon 2024
11th of August was a very hot day and also the day of the Great Yarmouth Half. Two of our Road Runners forgot about spending time on the beach or in the pool and instead represented Diss Road Runners admirably at this race.
Both Sarah and Kim ran exceptionally well, particularly in such hot, humid conditions coming home in 1:39:24 and 2:07:33 respectively. Well done ladies, amazing running!!
Diss AC Road Runners at the Inaugural Boudicca Way Ultra Marathon!
The inaugural Boudicca Way took place on a very (unexpectedly) hot day on 20th July 2024. Starting at Diss and ending in Trowse covering a mere 50km with a 10 hour cut off time, we were delighted to see so many of our amazing Road Runners supporting such a wonderful local Ultra!!
It was a really well organised, supported Ultra run with some of the friendliest volunteers we have ever encountered. They definitely kept everyone's spirits up and the coke and water-misters could not have been more appreciated!
Lance Escobar was the third man home and Emma Ward was the third woman! Outstanding achievements!!
Well done to everyone who took part, we are very proud of all of you. That took real dedication, determination and guts! Roll on the next one!

Diss AC at the Norfolk County Track and Field Championships 11/12 May 2024
Huge Congratulations to Janice Nottingham who ran in outstanding style to secure the title of Norfolk County Champion in the 100m, 200m and the 400m! An incredible achievement on a very hot day!
Congratulations also to Lydia one of our junior track athletes who completed the 1500m in the U13 category in a brilliant time!

Colchester Stampede 10k
What could be better than a run around the zoo on a Sunday morning! Well maybe the weather could have been a bit kinder, but that didn't dampen the spirits of three Roadrunners who embraced the rain (and the hill at the end!) to complete the 10k and enjoy a day at the zoo after.

Diss AC at the London Marathon!
Three members of the Roadrunners pounded the streets of London (and Diss) on Sunday 21st April as part of arguably the best marathon in the world. Emma Ward and Michele Walters were very excited to be a part of the mass participation marathon and Megan Frost covered the distance virtually around the streets of Diss! They all recorded fantastic times and we'd like to say a huge well done to all three!!

Bungay Festival of Running 10k
Four members of Diss Roadrunners took part in the Bungay 10K on Sunday April 14th. It was a beautiful day for a run, a little windy at times but the sun came out and stayed out for the whole of the race. It's a really good event and a lovely course, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning!

Framlingham Cross Country - The final muddy chapter!
Sunday March the 3rd saw three brave Diss AC Roadrunners complete the final XC of the season. They were rewarded with plenty of mud and a great sense of achievement!

Diss AC Athlete wins Silver at Indoor British Championships!
Massive congratulations to Janice Nottingham on her outstanding performance today (18.02.24) securing her a silver medal in an extremely tough field in the 400m. This comes a week after her success at the East of England Championships where she also secured silver medals in the 60m, 200m and 400m!

Sunday January 21st saw three of our intrepid Road Runners braving the course at Haverhill. The expected 'water feature' was absent as it had become a skating rink due to the freezing temperatures we have recently experienced! Peddars Way Ultra Marathon January 20th 2024
Lance Escobar and Phil Rusted completed the Peddars Way Ultra Marathon, running 51 miles from the Suffolk border to the North Norfolk Coast. An incredible effort guys finishing in superb times! Even managing to join the Club Awards Evening in time for a well deserved beer! Awesome!

Suffolk Winter League Cross Country Race 2
The second race of the Cross Country season took place on Sunday 14th of January at Haughley Park and eight of our Road Runners were out braving the cold to represent Diss AC. A fantastic multi terrain course with everything you could want from a cross country race! A two lap course over 5 miles through woodland, over fields, up and down hills, through mud and puddles and even a few logs to hurdle over!
